Communications Manager



* Creates and manages internal communications programs to keep employees informed of company strategies, objectives, product developments, accomplishments, etc. This includes, but is not limited to, email announcements, newsletters, bulletins, intranet site support.

* Provides writing and editing support for all internal and external communications including mass e-mail communications, product launches, website content and newsletters.

* Develops and maintains working relationships with marketing and category teams to implement business development objectives.

* Supports management team members with various communication needs for internal and external audiences.

* Develops and maintains professional contacts and affiliations with media, local community and related external resources to complete projects effectively and facilitate and promote the dissemination of news and publicity surrounding Safariland.

* Creates, edits and distributes news releases and media advisories; tracks coverage.

* Supports BAE Inc. and L&A Communications teams for internal program launches, messaging, and intranet maintenance.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
Required Educations & Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or English preferred or equivalent work experience. -Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of marketing/public relations/communications experience. Required Skills:
-Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ability to master multiple projects with multiple activities and multiple due dates -Excellent communication skills, both oral and written -Extensive media relations experience dealing with a wide variety of local to national press, trade media and broadcast journalists -Broad experience in crisis communications development and implementation -Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher -Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
